Brelms Trust CIO

We do NOT fund:

  • Organisations without charitable status.
  • Organisations not registered at the Charity Commission.
  • Large charitable organisations which currently have an annual income of £300,000 or more.
  • National charities, unless the project is based in Yorkshire and for the specific benefit of the Yorkshire Community. Embedded local management by a board of Trustees and financial control of all budgetary spending must be evidenced, usually by a set of Accounts.
  • Applications from individuals or student gap year costs.
  • Charities requesting donations for specific or general appeals.
  • Organisations which advance religion or faith-based activities as stated within their charitable objects as registered at the Charity Commission UNLESS the specific project or activity to be funded provides services to people regardless of their religious beliefs and does not promote any specific faith. This should be clearly demonstrated within your application.
  • Party political organisations.
  • Animal welfare.
  • Medical research.
  • Work requiring retrospective funding.
  • Grantees that re-apply within the fallow period after their previous grant, that is, within 12 months from the end of their grant award period (being the 12 months after the receipt of their final funding payment or the date BRELMS receives their final M&E report, whichever is later).
